Homages Flow for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Face a Security Hold.

More than two weeks following the shocking loss of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt able to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally put my grief into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate tribute, legendary director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the protagonist.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese added.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to prevent the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, at the request from the LAPD.

A court order put a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" connected to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the tragedy, public personalities offered divergent comments.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, offering controversial remarks that were broadly criticized by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out last week. Talking on his program, Rogan described the comments as "disturbing" and implied they revealed a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide should have intervened when the decision to weigh in on the passing was made.
