FC Barcelona Set to Play First Game at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years after they moved out so building work could begin.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said finished work included a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barça organized a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
