Explore 29 Fresh Game Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical addition or simply another crossover cash grab? Let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with some useful background. All items listed here launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27th.

Magic x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into the many special decks and collections on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few surprising details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which gamers can cheat powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak counts as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are we'll see Sneak in future sets moving forward.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” a senior game designer explained. “But on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards outside of your main deck, so was I. But as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:

As per the company’s current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet archetype built around artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures who could work as your commander depending on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise based on demand. Sources told that it contains 43 new cards in total, which translates to an extra 37 TMNT-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures shown above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the deck includes 37 lands.)

How will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, Wizards is offering a bundle. It costs $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promotional card
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Traditional foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card with brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards showed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces on a pizza. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is made for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the prize for winning)
  • Ninety Regular basic lands (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • One Draft insert (a single-page guide to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays one other card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
