Residents observed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Southern State's Weather Woes

At the same time, nearly one thousand residents in the southern state also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area recorded its most precipitation in over 500 days.

Rescue organizations handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the area, mainly for property damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

During the peak on yesterday, more than 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.

Climate Outlook

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.

Tomorrow was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both areas.

Health officials warned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
