British Military Bases to House Refugee Applicants in Initiative to Cease Hotel Use
Hundreds individuals seeking protection might be accommodated in military barracks as the administration aims to end the use of hotels.
Negotiations are underway regarding the use of two locations - one in Scotland and another in the southern England - for housing for nine hundred males.
The government leader has directed Domestic Affairs and Ministry of Defence representatives to accelerate efforts to identify suitable armed forces locations.
The government has committed to end the utilization of temporary hotel accommodations, which have cost substantial taxpayer money and turned into a central issue for immigration opposition demonstrations.
Planned Military Sites
Asylum seekers could be housed in the Inverness barracks in Highland region and Crowborough army training camp in the southern county by the conclusion of the coming month.
Commercial facilities, interim housing and vacant properties are also being examined for possible utilization.
Authorities Statements
Authoritative figures stated that each location would meet safety regulations.
"We are furious at the level of unauthorized immigrants and asylum hotels."
"Our administration will terminate every asylum hotel. Preparations are advancing rapidly, with additional appropriate locations being identified to ease pressure on communities and reduce migrant housing expenditures."
Present Housing Figures
Approximately 32 thousand refugee applicants are at this time being sheltered in hotels, representing a decrease from a high point of over 56 thousand in last year.
A recent report found that substantial amounts of public funds had been "wasted" on refugee housing.
Earlier Defense Facility Operation
Two previous defense facilities - the Wethersfield facility in Essex and Napier Barracks in southeastern England - are presently being used to shelter refugee applicants after being opened under the prior administration.
The administration head commented on the situation, indicating: "We remain committed to terminate each temporary accommodation facility. I can't tell you how troubled and alarmed we are that we inherited a challenge as substantial as this by the former leadership."
