British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities confirmed on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
Joshua had remained in the hospital while recovering from minor injuries, his management team had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”
The news of his discharge arrives after the global fight fans offered condolences for the fighter in the following the devastating accident.
